Our current project is focused on child abuse. We designed two posters and displayed them around our shcool.
While we were researching, we found out that many people have difficulty in differentiating discipline and child abuse. Therefore the first poster we made is focused on educating the people of which actions are considered child abuse, and how to prevent those actions. For this poster we targeted all age groups, including the victims (children), bystander, and the assailant (parents), as there are many cases where the victims themselves do not recognize that they are being abused, and do not take any actions.
The second poster, on the other hand was more focused on raising the awareness of the issue, and to educate the parents. The poster includes some tips for the parents to stay in the boundary of "discipline." The quote "Child abuse casts a shadow. The length of a lifetime," by Herbert Ward, was used to emphasize the seriousness of the issue, and to effectively raise awareness.

We interviewed some teachers in our school, who come from all different regions, and asked them the following questions:
"Do you think there is a difference between child abuse and hitting their children to discipline them?"
"Do you think there is a difference between how Asians vs. Westerners perceive child abuse?"
"Would you hit your child to discipline them? Why?"
"What do you consider to be child abuse?"
"What do you think should be done to reduce child abuse?"
